In May 2014, I took my bicycle apart, put it in an enormous box, and flew to Budapest. I came back a few days later with aching muscles, extremely muddy legs and a fledgling hunger to see more of the world. Fast forward two and a bit years, and I've just returned from a massive 9000 km road trip; taking trains, ferries and the odd speedboat more than halfway across the world from China to Stockholm.
Between the two trips, I've visited as many cities, skied as many mountains and swum in as many seas as I could find. I've learned to live out of backpack, and to take whatever opportunities present themselves. So, when an advert popped up on Facebook looking for freelance writers to start travel blogs, I decided that it was time to try writing one myself.
